A Note from Our Board Chair
Dear TUF Members and Friends,
On behalf of The Urban Farm Board of Directors, I am pleased to introduce Michelle Graham who has been selected as the new Executive Director starting November 4, 2019. Michelle has strong professional experience in agriculture, public health and education sectors, and has a deep passion for The Urban Farm’s mission.
Michelle has a Master’s degree in Sustainable Food Systems from the University of Colorado and has been operations manager and head farmer for a non-profit farm in Yorktown Heights, New York. She has previously served as an adjunct professor at SUNY Westchester Community College teaching courses in sustainable agriculture, has a certificate in aquaponic farming, and is an advocate for empowering youth to become ecologically literate and caring citizens.
We know you will warmly welcome Michelle as she starts in her new role.
The Board of Directors also expresses our sincere thanks to Michael Nicks who, with exceptional effort and diligence, has improved the Farm immensely over the past five years. Mike will be meeting with Michelle over the next few weeks to ensure a smooth transition.
And thank you for your support of The Urban Farm and for sharing our mission of connecting kids to their food, land, animals and others. We are excited to have Michelle join our community of engaged citizens.
