Summer Fun 2019

The Urban Farm at Stapleton has opportunities galore to transport your little one (or not-so-little) to the farm right here in the city.  Where else can a child learn first hand about sustainable agriculture and animal husbandry (in age-appropriate language, of course) or how to spin wool without leaving the comforts of the city? How about experiencing the connection of horse and rider or the warmth of a freshly-laid egg? At The Urban Farm this summer, there is a little bit of “country” for every age and inclination.

EXPERIENCE THE FARM – Designed for young farmers and youth farmers, with plenty of hands‐on activities to put a little farm living in city life. Each day, your camper will focus on a particular area of the Farm. We will start the week exploring the Farm and learning the basics. Then we will play and work with sheep and goats, chickens and rabbits, cattle, donkey and miniature horses. (Please note, campers will not be mounting horses). Also, we will get dirty while gardening in soil and learn about alternative growing systems, Aeroponics, and Aquaponics in which waste from the fish is converted to plant food all naturally.
