Happy National Pig Day

It’s March 1 and it’s National Pig Day. Celebrate with us by coming to see Bailey, the potbelly extraordinaire. Ok, she’s just a lazy potbelly, but shhh, don’t tell her that.

Seeking Field Trip Leaders

Do you enjoy seeing the delight on a child’s face when they learn that a goat is not a dog? You can become a Field Trip Leader at The Urban Farm and lead tours of eager, excited children and adults. Training will be provided and you’ll learn interesting facts about our animals.

If you are already a TUF field trip leader, please join us for an important refresher with our new program coordinator and cattle expert, Rachel.

Field trips are generally one hour in length and you would be compensated at $20 per trip. The schedule is flexible; you can sign up for the trips that fit your schedule.  Volunteer field trip leaders are also welcome.

Please RSVP to let us know your interest level.

In Summer of 2016, The Urban Farm took part in filming of an episode for Season 4 of a PBS show called SciGirls.  “SciGirls inspires bright and curious kids to explore science, technology, engineering, and math, or STEM.” Season 4 has a special twist: while still firmly focused on STEM, six new, Spanish-first episodes “celebrate the language and culture of the fast-growing and youngest racial/ethnic group in the United States: Hispanics!”

HERE IS THE VIDEO!
